HMD Global seems to have plans of targeting the low budget Android smartphones in India. It has launched Nokia 2 with a powerful battery, and it is most probably going to be priced around Rs 6,500 to Rs 7,000. Availability of Xiaomi’s Redmi 4, Redmi 4A and other affordable 4G LTE Android smartphones means that there is tough competition already there. One of the pros is that Nokia 2 is a Dual SIM smartphone and another pro is the Android version. Nokia 2 comes out of the box with Android 7.1 Nougat operating system, and it is also going to get Android 8.0 Oreo update in future.
Nokia 2’s display screen is a 5 inch LTPS HD display screen with resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels.
It is powered with 1.3GHz Quad Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 212 processor and 1GB RAM. HMD Global has provided Adreno 304 GPU and 1GB RAM in this smartphone. One of the cons of this device seems to be internal storage space of 8GB only, while one can get external storage space up to 128GB using microSD card.
HMD has already launched Nokia 6, Nokia 5 and Nokia 3 in this year and now Nokia 2 has got launched. We shall wait and see that whether HMD Global decides to launch some more low budget smartphones like Nokia 2 in this year.
The rear camera is a 8 megapixel AutoFocus camera with flash support, while the front camera is a 5 megapixel camera. As per the low price, the camera features seem to be satisfactory.
Nokia 2 is having connectivity features which are GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and 4G VoLTE. It has also got Google Assistant.
This device is going to be available in 3 colors which are Black, White and Copper. Nokia 2 is splash proof as it has got IP52 certification.
Even if in comparison to Redmi 4, the features may not be that attractive, but because of the latest Android version and powerful battery it may be a good choice for many.
